For my Little Lexi

Conventional Wisdom

cheek to cheek
heart to heart
you lie against me
breathing softly as you sleep

conventional wisdom says
moving you to your crib
is the natural course of action
~yet~

you seem secure here
even as I am complete
in immeasurable ways

we are bonded in
irrefutable
unconditional
love

Rules can wait
until
tomorrow
