A Soldier's Prayer

by BethShelby

The sun is setting in the west,
and it is best
that I try hard
to stay on guard.

Tomorrow brings another day
I'll be away
from those I love.
To God above

I pray He'll keep them safe for me
till I am free
and this Mideast
sad conflict's ceased.
