Note to Self about Diet

by Verna Cole Mitchell

Oh, you are on a diet, are you?
You must stick with a plan if you'd reduce.
One key's to keep all tempting snacks away.
You can't eat like a pig, you silly goose.

Oh, you are on a diet, are you?
Do not be by the foods you love seduced.
Ignore all rich desserts that you survey.
You must stick with a plan if you'd reduce.

Oh, you are on a diet, are you?
If you would like your tight clothes to be loose,
Choose only healthy foods, and do not stray.
You can't eat like a pig, you silly goose.

Oh, you are on a diet, are you?
To think doughnuts are slimming, don't deduce.
Leave gravy and potatoes off your tray.
You must stick with a plan if you'd reduce.

Oh, you are on a diet, are you?
When you claim hunger pangs as an excuse,
You'll put on extra pounds to your dismay.
You can't eat like a pig, you silly goose.

If you desire to be thin and spruce,
Forget the goal you set, and you will pay.
You must stick with a plan if you'd reduce.
You can't eat like a pig, you silly goose.
