A memorable shopping trip!
Cheeky Monkey
by Shirley Ann Bunyan
"I AM calm. You'd be screaming too if it happened to you."
"NO, it wasn't a frickin' donkey. I said MONKEY. A MONKEY!"
"Yes, it's still here."
"Sitting on the roof of the car."
"Smoking a cigarette."
"NO, I didn't hit my head."
"They're on their way. Are you LAUGHING?"
"It looks happy enough. Are you going to ask HOW I AM?"
"Er...the car...about that...it wasn't my fault. The monkey...stop SHOUTING."
"Because you said we were out of BANANAS and you couldn't make your frickin' SMOOTHIE."

Writing Prompt Write a dialogue but only one side of it. For example, if you were to overhear a phone conversation, you could only hear half of it. The reader must be able to work out what's going on from that half. No writing outside of the dialogue. Use the title and picture to help set the scene if needed. Any genre, any length. Be creative and have fun with it! |
Just one side of a conversation.
