Familiar feelings we can't smother

In the Quiet of Our Room

Song lyrics

In the quiet of our room, we share each other
Tender touches of a love that's still in bloom
There's those same familiar feelings we can't smother
In the quiet of our room

The kids are all a-napping up the stairs
On another bright and Sunday afternoon
We relinquish time and cast away our cares
In the quiet of our room

You've a way of making love that sets my mind at ease
Your embrace is like the taste of your perfume
And we try to please 'cause all our times are not like these
In the quiet of our room

As you say, "Good night" and fold your eyes in dreams
On your shoulder shines an outline of the moon
And it seems the moonbeam gleams on angel wings
In the quiet of our room

Comes the dawning I hear music in my soul
As you strum the morning sun-streams to a tune
That says the love you give has not grown old
In the quiet of our room

We have known the miseries of loving desperately
Felt the joy of the product of your womb
And in knowing you I feel this world so magically
In the quiet of our room
