A reflection of a difficult relationship in my life

Who She Named Calamity

by Danielle Lillard

There has never been a time, I do not recall pain.

She is always, constant, the alpha and the omega.

I began in pain and I will end in pain, this I know for certain.

I am a creature now.

An apparition, inhuman, yet a woman remains.

I exist between this life and the other.

I search for illumination.

Torment is my familiar.

She knows every particle of my being.

She has bewitched my thoughts.

She is a black hole, void of light and goodness,

her rays of nothingness drawing my soul ever closer.

Embrace me, caress me, whisper lies into my heart.

She is endless, fruitless, misery.

Suffering is her grandest pleasure.

Despair her Motis Operandi.

I am who she named Calamity.
