End...less Joy

by victortouche

Baby,
I don't think,
I can...
understand.

Why,
oh why,
we can't bend.

You keep tellin' me,
with no bend,
comes an end...less
chasm.

A bridgeless,
emotionless,
hopeless,
anchorless us.

One last summer.
A retreat.
Long, warm, sunny,
end...less maze.

I don't think
we ever thought
those days would
end...less be.

Is pride still
a problem o' mine?
Don't even polish it
much anymore.

Do I seem stiff?
To you?
Add a bit
to your decision.

Lack of flex,
a prolonged physicality
cannot emote
a beautiful simplicity?

Emotionless, eh?
I was raised
to hold emotions
at bay.

Feelin' again?
Yeah.
I feel like...
dancin'.

Again.
Just can't
feel
no grin.

Not been
with a smile.
My style.

But,
still tryin'
that last mile.

Just
a walk,
with
a woman...

I love.

My my.
I'm just a man.
With hopes, emotions, dreams,
and foolishness.

Just like everybody else.
