My mother/son relationship

Loving Mother Narcissa

by cflorian8

Once, I willingly followed you with my heart and mind.
I trusted you to protect and love me to be my guide.
I soon learned that love is fatal if I choose to be blind.
Beware of sweet words and stories of any kind.
I remember these words to stiffen my spine.

I struggle to say no when mom cries desperate tears.
I am a faithful son I want to ease her fears.
Should I help her with this cross she bears?
Say no this time and ignore the words she swears?
Truths or lies which path does she steer?
Trusting her is my biggest fear?
Loving a mother like her causes my heart to tear.
Leaving behind many scars that I secretly bear.
