The golden hair,

the lovely smile,

belie the fact that she’s in pain.

You look at her

and you just see this sweet,

young,  very young girl.

Untouched by the world,

fresh, unspoiled,

blooming like a delicate

rose among the thorns.

A young sparrow

starting to fly,

looking up at her nest

from down on the ground

waiting for help.

No fear in her heart,

because she trusts.

An innocent child

learning to walk,

sure of the help her parents offer,

knowing she will not fall.

An angel here

down on Earth

making us happy

every day.

She’s wise,

this lass,

she knows how to live life.

she knows how to be selfless,

loving, kind.
