This work has reached the exceptional level
For all Vets Past and Present

Acrostic (I'm still fighting)

I'm still fighting yet have no land
My future lost to lies of man
 
Sold off by words my heart believed
That freedom's home all would achieve
I'm still fighting for promised dreams
Like brothers left in blood filled streams
Lying alone in tortured screams
 
Finding disgrace 'pon rain slapped grass
Impaled by stares from those who pass
Gelded from life I bled to save
Haunted by those who bravely gave
Their youthful life for my return
I'm still fighting, for mem'ry burned
No honor found in poverty
Give back to me my dignity
