Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Death of a sibling

My brother

by Moon baby

And surely the angels did cry
as they carried his soul 
towards the heavenly sky
 
You didn't want to leave
and you felt torn
you didn't want us to cry
or be left to mourn
 
a celebration of your life
with memories and stories to share
will bring laughter and tears
from so many who care
 
a diamond with many sides
shines light in every direction
the colors, so vibrant to see
there are many sides to you
your life had deep meaning
It's a gift now revealed to me
 
 
Being there for you
when you needed me most
has been a blessing
allowing me to be close
 
your heart,  made of pure gold
you were called home before you'd grown old
it was your time
and you had to go
still, I want you to know
 
I can't say goodbye
it's until then
with my last breath
we will meet again
 
I know you are surrounded by love
by all those who have passed before us
and have watched from above
 
One by one
until we are all together again
the bond of family and friend
one day,  we will be together
all of us again

My brother passed away unexpectedly, and it doesn't feel real yet. He had such a strong influence on my life, but the greatest gift was getting to really see and know all of the many sides that made him who he was. He was my big brother, mentor, and friend.
