Mother and child

Connected

by jaded831

Even before the day I was born
you smothered me with love.
Every time I would cry, you'd
come running to my aid.
On the first day of school you
held my hand til I made a friend.
Your being there gave me strength.
You made sure to chaperone my
senior prom so I couldn't get into
trouble. My face turned red with
embarrassment when you danced
slow with my science teacher.
Physically I don't need you anymore.
But without you I'd have a heavy heart.
When you are gone from this earth,
you'll follow me wherever I go.
When in trouble I will hear you
advising me, holding me as a child
patting my head, and letting me
know everything will be okay.
