Spring Break

Woke up this morning with a thought
(I really need a vacation)
Too many battles have I fought
My soul’s in need of ablution
 
Where should I go? What shall I do?
Where can I feel re-creation?
My soul’s aching and must renew
Let me wallow in salvation
 
I will release my normal life
And sources of irritation
Ignore the world and all the strife
To seek my peace with all passion
 
Once I refresh, I can explore
Open my mind for absorption
Talk to locals and learn much more
That's how I know any nation
 
When I return, I then realize
Home’s my only destination
Each day I wake to chase some prize
And continue education
 
When I adopt the attitude
That vacation is every day
I bow my head in gratitude
Happy living is when we play
