God's Gentle Whisper

Soft gentle zephyrs caress my skin as sea grass whispers in the wind
Seagulls above me chanting in the sky as they welcome the new day
Tranquility at its best as the sun begins to rise over the ocean swells
I breathe in deeply the fresh salty air as I raise my eyes to the heavens
This is my time alone with my God.
Priceless!

Sedentary in my sand chair my being is serene and in this one moment
I hear God speak to me through his creation; His desire to reside in me
He asks that I stay close to Him as I feel His love encircle my entire being
All sleep as I sit and contemplate what my life would be like without Him
This is my time alone with my God
Contemplation!

I turn to gaze at the church's white steeple set behind the wildlife sanctuary
Tender thoughts of amazing grace touch my soul as I breath in new life
Canoes paddle through the marsh's green carpet around peek-a-boo ponds
Sleep everyone and let me have this precious time with my one true love
This is my time alone with my God.
Agape!

Cherishing this long-awaited respite, I communicate with my Heavenly Father
Life's business has a way of consuming my time and taking me away from Him
Memories flash back to six years ago sitting here with my mother, now passed
She, too, loved the amity and scents of the sea and her time spent with God
This is my time alone with my God.
Serenity!

I see my mother as a beautiful seagull flying above letting me know she is ever present
Reflecting, I think back on one of my favorite country songs by The Highwaymen
"Or I (she) may simply be a single drop of rain but I (she) will remain"
I ponder and wonder what life would be like in heaven with all my loved ones
This is my time alone with my God.

Rising I walk along the beach to experience all the sights, sounds and scents of the sea
There is no need to speak for He knows everything that I am thinking and feeling
He speaks to the deepest recesses of my heart and soul, I only need to be still and listen
I imagine what the world would be like if everyone had a God or Higher Power in their lives
I cherish this time alone with my God.
Silence!

Gulls are beckoning me to stay a little while longer, must I leave this sacred haven?
No verbal communication is required here; I am a slow moving free-flowing steam
Petite Sanderlings scatter along the seashore to signal the new day as morning has broken
Glory and praise to God, as new beginnings emerge, and I am thankful for the new day
I cherish this time alone with my God
