Back Seat Driver

by justjo66

Back Seat Driver

My right foot on the imaginary brake
As slow cars and town flashed by
Speeding by the lake
I thought surely I would die

Mother in the front seat
Brother behind the wheel
I was trying to be discreet
Brother had so much zeal

Scared but not wanting to offend
My silent little prayer
His driving I would never recommend
Lord, please let us live and get us there
