It's dry again

by kiwisteveh

It's dry again, the earth has cracks
would swallow Grandma in her tracks,
if she should wander off the path.
Don't flush the loo! Don't take a bath!
We're saving every precious drop
to nourish our remaining crop,
a solitary runner bean;
it's all we have; and food trumps clean.

It's dry again, so if you must
walk on the road, beware the dust.
It swallowed grandpa yesterday -
(an extra bean for me - Hooray! )
I saw a cloud just now, I did,
but then it bloody went and hid
behind a wall of solid blue;
the sun beats down on me and you.

It's dry again, the water tank
holds only echoes. At the bank,
they've called our mortgage in. Oh dear!
They'll have to stand in line, I fear;
we haven't got a single bean -
oh, that's not true, but what I mean -
we do not have a brass razoo,
a dime, a cent or any clue
how we can make a cup of tea
except from our recycled wee...
It's dry again...

Recognized

It's raining this morning (New year's Day) Looks like 2016 will be a good year.

The cracks have closed up a little and we managed to find grandpa and wash the dust off... He's asking for his bean back...
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
