Limerick for Ray writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt After the success of our recent contest "Limerick for Mikey Cahill", Ray (Domino 2) demanded the same attention (smile). Similar to the recent contest, Ray has agreed that you may write anything you wish, kind or unkind, sweet or sour. Anything that might get a laugh is acceptable. Of course, you may simply like to impart what a great guy he is. The choice is yours to make. Write a single Limerick or a Limerick suite (not more than 2) in five lines with either of the following syllable count: 9-9-6-6-9, 9-9-5-5-9, 8-8-5-5-8, 10-10-6-6-10 The rhyme scheme for a Limeric is AABBA Limericks are originated in Ireland and are traditionally bawdy, however, bawdy is not a hard requirement, as it may be too much for some of you (lol). One piece of artwork. No visual or sound effects. Author notes are allowed, but don't go crazy on it - we don't want a page of author notes in a Limerick contest. Example of a Limerick by Karen M. Miner who graciously gave her permission to share it with us. It is one of my favorites. Frozen, With Salt (Limerick) I wanted a deep Marguerita, they told me that life would seem "sweetah". Seems inebriated is so overrated- the bartender looks like a cheetah! Copyright Karen M. Miner |
