Minute Poem

A Cold Dawn Breaks

by kiwisteveh

The firewood snarls and fights the axe;
my body lacks
the will to fight.
A lonely night.

The chores that once were joys are done;
the long day's run.
Unto the dark,
bequeath my spark.

Another winter come, and I
can not deny
old bones, new aches.
A cold dawn breaks.
