Familiar Faces

by adewpearl

Whoever said our happiness
is found in far off places,
as if we need to search the world
to fill our empty spaces?

Philosophers have oft declared,
but we must be reminded,
a search for joy midst greener grass
is only for the blinded.

For true delight is found within
the life which one embraces
within the inner circle of
our most familiar faces.

Many thanks to my daughter Miranda, who has outdone herself with the best picture ever of my grandson Sawyer. :-)
