Life's Surprises
by adewpearl
Too often the quotidian will smother life's surprises, until we even cease to seek the treasures life disguises. We lose the curiosity that once spurred our exploring, and spend instead our precious time bemoaning life as boring. The dandelion disappears except as an annoyance, where once we gathered up its blooms so prized for their flamboyance. The lawn becomes a weekly chore, a morning lost to mowing, where once we whiled away the hours to find one clover growing. But I have faith the awe we've felt is there to be recovered, if only we believe life's best is yet to be discovered. |

Many thanks to my daughter Miranda for this delightful photo of the family pet Potato leaping from the Diapers.com delivery box as Sawyer peeks in to explore the treasures that have been deposited in his living room.
