Some think that life's a ball,
and this is just a fact --
they're bound to blast it out the park
when they are called to bat.

Some others disagree,
and when they're called to act,
believe they're bound to miss each pitch,
for that's how cards are stacked.

Though everyone will miss
a hit from time to time,
I still would rather be 'mongst those
prepared for life to shine.
