Ad Astra
by kiwisteveh
A panoply of suns adorns the face of heaven. Far beyond the wit of man, they taunt us with their secrets 'cross the void of deepest space. Of constancy they tell, for Alexander, Caesar and their men did surely gaze upon these self-same stars, and like their ancient forebears weave a tale of heroes, gods and monsters, love and war. And Leonardo, too, the Florentine, beneath these very glitt'ring orbs did muse on Earth-shine. Splashed above a sleeping town on Vincent's canvas, fiery golden whorls like Catherine wheels, pulsate in inky skies. Now we, the children of a knowing age, still raise our eyes in reverence and awe, our science vanquished. |
