Poverty

by justjo66

Poverty

Spoiled children
Devouring jaws
Eyes looking up
Ever grabbing claws

Crying for more, more

Trampling life's gifts
Frolicking in the day
Mouths open too wide
Everything is throw away

Crying for more, more

Mounds of trash
Piled high on a hill
Condemn us for our waste
Yet, we continue still

Crying for more, more

While poverty's children
Eyes cast down
Empty hands pleading
Sit still in shanty town

Crying for more, more
