Apologies to EB Browning
Let me count the courses
by kiwisteveh
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
I love thee more than strawberries and cream, Or cheese on toast grilled to a drizzling dream, to follow, Danish pastries' sug'ry glaze. I love thee to a depth that would amaze, Far more than trout caught fresh from tinkling stream At dusk, and grilled on charcoal's friendly gleam Or tea with scones and jam in sweet cafes. Roast pork with crispy crackling, thou surpass, Fruit salad and a 'pav' are not so sweet. Ice cream piled high in frosted sundae glass Gives no more pleasure than thy form petite. I love thee more than pungent Lamb Madras - Excuse me dear, I think I need to eat! |
