Avoid the following people
New Year Resolution #1
by kiwisteveh
With wisdom bordering Confucian
I herewith make my resolution: Avoid all those who get my goat; The ones who are hereunder wrote Extremists, cultists, those who 'Yo', There's no doubt, on the list they go! With those who name their children weird, And stateless Princes to be feared. Strange men who go from door to door, And those who own three homes or more. Now while this list is rather neat, I fear it's far from being complete. What of those who claim they've been Impregnated by aliens green? Or loud men who can't help but bore With 'Stop me if you've heard't before.'? Snide princesses, callow yobs, Food and wine and fashion snobs; Bosses who must check your work The very day you choose to shirk; Women fierce with shopping trolleys, Men with bling parading dollies; Boof-heads, potheads, hot-heads, more, Rugby players out trying to score; All those who seek to vent their bile, Shop assistants who don't smile; Those who flaunt their trim physique When you stopped dieting just last week; The woman who wears that dress you threw With umpteen times more style than you; The neighbour mowing grass at dawn, Rock spiders with their kiddy porn. The list grows long, I've more to add, But I don't want to make you mad, Lest those who write such silly verses Attracts YOUR resolution's curses. |

I must give credit to a very clever lady columnist whose name escapes me at present - she started me off with this topic in a column earlier this year. Her list included those mentioned in stanzas 2 and 3 (including 'people who say 'Yo!' to be avoided at all costs. I have expanded the list and connected it to A New Year' Resolution to make it more topical.
