Do You See Me?
Sometimes I feel like a fatherless child All alone on the desert so wild Lost, aimlessly wandering Words in my head pondering My body is ravaged and racked with pain How can I explain? My soul is in despair I am stripped bare I lie on this cold hard bed Am I alive or dead? My tears have turned to dust I have no one to trust My prayers bounce back The sky is only black I walk the streets dirty and in rags Carrying all my possessions in bags No one looks into my eyes They only step sidewise No one offers to speak Am I some kind of freak? Reach out and touch me And you will see I am human, too Just like you Help me if you can I'm just a beggar man |
