Summertime Ways

by justjo66

Nothing I would rather do
Than sit on the river bank with you
Toes in the water, sipping our Mountain Dew*

Watching the tubers* floating by like a breeze
The sunshine makes me sneeze
"I'll take another slice of cheese."

Bees buzzing overhead
Ants getting into the bread
Clouds remind me of my feather bed

Lazy, hazy days
Summertime ways
I'm not hearing any nays*

Children and adults laughing out loud
This sure is a happy crowd
I am just "Wowed"!

Nothing I would rather do
Than sit on the river bank with you.

Just fun thoughts. *Mountain Dew=a soft drink
* tubers=a slang word for inner tubes
* nays=refusals, negative replies
Thanks lorac1 for a great picture.
