The True Gift

He picked a wild thistle
A wild purple flower's glory The true gift was himself. |
Haiku Poetry Contest contest entry
My sweet husband in his childish ways picked this beautiful flower from our pasture. He brought it in to give to me as a gift. I would rather have it than dozens of roses. His thinking of me when he saw something beautiful inspired me to write the above poem. Of course, I had to take a picture of it.
