Lost at Sea
by adewpearl
I searched for safety from the storm, but not one harbor sheltered me. No bells were tolled to sound alarm - no rescue parties heard my plea. A ship adrift without a star that I might chart a course for home, I buffeted against a sea whose waves conspired I be alone. As resignation to defeat began to take its ghastly hold, I knelt to utter one last prayer to place myself within faith's fold. With every word the winds grew still -- each wave caressed me with support, and I who had been lost at sea was carried home, God's peace my port. |
