Creator of the Universe,
the stone made smooth to skip a stream,
the moon that pulls the mighty tides,
the hyacinth and tangerine

Creator of the Firmaments,
Orion's belt and Northern Star,
the plumpened fruit of jelly grapes
preserved within a mason jar

Creator of the buttercup
reflecting gold from sunlight's gleam,
the possibility of peace
still held within each mother's dream

Creator of the oceans deep,
each breath I take from breeze-swept air,
I ask that I might live to serve,
a life of gratitude my prayer.
