A Poet's Prayer
by adewpearl
Resplendence of a rainbow's arc The stylish songs of meadowlark Ambrosial scent of cherry trees Refreshing taste as honey flows Soft velvet touch of damask rose -- These pleasures bring me to my knees. A calla lily's sculptured swirl A butterfly as wings unfurl -- I make to God one last behest, that I might share these memories like milkweed seeds set free by breeze before I take my final rest. |
