I'll Give you Sunsets
by adewpearl
I'll give to you vast ocean's edge where deepest waters meet blue sky, and if you make your true love's pledge, I'll take you where the eagles fly. I'll spin you robes of spider's silk with threads of love in their design, as smooth as baths of buttermilk, if only you will say you're mine. I'll build for you from rainbow's arc a bridge to where all ills depart, a place where color crowds out dark if you will let me in your heart. I'll give you sunsets laced with rose and shades of rarest amethyst, a dawn with light that slowly grows to penetrate the morning mist, a meadow gold with buttercups that offer absolutely free sweet nectar on which we can sup, if you will only marry me. |
