A Blue Jay Perched Upon a Bough
by adewpearl
A jay seduced by laden bough replete with berries plump and sweet, decided to delay his flight to taste this tantalizing treat. But while he perched upon this branch to eat the meal of his pursuit, he realized this interlude had fed him more than ripe, red fruit. For though the succulence of flesh had made for fresh and lush repast, he also had absorbed the warmth the sun upon his brow had cast. And so he lingered, purpose gone, past need for body's nourishment, to take into his soul's embrace the comfort Father Sun had sent. |
