We Pray for Peace
by adewpearl
We pray for peace but don't prepare a place for peace within our lives, so this our cross we're doomed to bear -- we pray for peace but don't prepare and thus find nothing but despair when new day dawns and war arrives to prayers for peace that don't foreswear a place for hate within our lives. |

A triolet is an 8 line poem in iambic tetrameter with a rhyme scheme of ABaAabAB. The first line is repeated as the fourth and the seventh lines, and the second line is repeated as the eighth line. The seventh and eighth lines of this poem are not exact replicas of line one and two - they have been modified and thus make this something other than a classic triolet.
