Writing Prompt Tetractys is a simple and interesting form of poetry. Write a poem, with only five lines. Each line adds one syllable until the last stanza which has ten syllables. See an example and details in the announcement. |

Ray Stebbing, the inventor of this tetractys form, had this to say about it: "The challenge of the tetractys is to express a complete thought, profound or comic, witty or wise, within the narrow compass of twenty syllables." This form is about more than syllable count, as are most poetic forms.
