Flirtatious Flowers
by adewpearl
When None-so-Pretty, meadow maid, appeared that sun-filled morning, she swayed her silk magenta dress and had the suitors swarming. Sweet William, first to catch her eye, was stirred by their connection, but None-so-Pretty felt, alas, no genuine affection. Each bachelor's buttons popped with pride when Pretty showed him favor, but soon enough his pride would fall when maiden's fervor wavered. It seemed her fate to live a life beneath a virgin's bower, when Johnny Jump Up showed his face at the eleventh hour. His purple suit with yellow shirt made Pretty's heart beat harder, so now they live in wedded bliss that blooms with passion's ardor. |

The names in bold are names of wildflowers. The illustration is a cultivated pansy, not exactly identical to the wild pansy, Johnny Jump Up, but it's as close as I could find.
