but smiles took cares away.

the naani is a poem of 20-25 syllables divided into four lines and is usually an expression of human concerns. This poem is 25 syllables.
Tuesday is the day I serve breakfast at the local daytime shelter for the homeless and housed poor. Another volunteer who does not work in the kitchen brought in his eleven year old daughter to help me out today. This was the first day of her summer vacation. Lydia already knew some of our clients since her family attends the church across the street from the shelter where some clients attend, but strangers or friends, she served everyone with a quiet smile. It is a lovely sight to see grown men become gentler and calmer in the presence of a child. Lydia was my favorite helper ever. Never underestimate the power of an act of kindness or the power of a smile.
