Solitude
by adewpearl
She skims above the shoots of grass, one solitary butterfly -- a hundred thousand blades of green beneath her wings as she flies by. White wisps of clouds waft through the air but do not keep her company -- this orange goddess of the sky, alone above an emerald sea. What does she meditate upon in solitude of solo flight? The secret is not mine to know, just mine to ask at such a sight. |

My thanks to the stunning and evocative art of Fairy on Fan Art, whose painting inspired this poem.
