humorous quatrains about poetry and real life
Reality

A wintry mix is on the way -- forget today's warm breeze. In thirty-six short hours from now, the rain is due to freeze. If crocuses have peeked their heads above the thawing ground, in two days time the pelting sleet will pound those petals down. Our springtime poems we have writ about the blooms that grow. Pen might be mightier than sword -- but it can't stop the snow! |

Here in Pennsylvania the skies are warming up to 60 degrees today - and just as I was basking in that thought and thinking about writing yet another delightful spring poem, the noontime weather report rained on my parade to let me know a wintry mix of sleet and snow is due for tomorrow night with a drop in temperature of almost 30 degrees. This is just me being a gloomy Gus at hearing that news.
