Celebrating the Birth of the Christ Child

The Nativity in A-Z Land

by adewpearl

Yes, I know I add a few extra words - please read in the spirit this was written, not as an a-z poem being judged for strict adherence to rules.
Alleluia!

Angels and archangels'
anthems announce
a blessed baby's birth.
Bethlehem born.

Behold the
Christ Child
delivered.

Emmanuel.

Faithful Father's
gladsome gift.
Gracious God.

Holy! Holy! Holy!

Humble Infant
immortal.

Jubilate Deo.

Kneel to our King.

Light of Light
Little Lamb.

Maiden Mary's
mangered newborn.

Nowell,
night of promise.

Proclaim and praise
our Prince of Peace.

Quicken
Rise up
Rejoice

Shepherds, Seraphim, Sages,
see the shining star.
Seek the stable,
the swaddled, slumbering
Savior.

Sing truth's
tidings
unabashedly.
Venite adoramus.

Weary world,
welcome and exalt
Him,
Yahweh's Yes.
Zion.

Recognized

Emmanuel means God with us. In Christian tradition, the Emmanuel of the Old Testament Isaiah is the prophesied Messiah, who is Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Matthew makes this connection in its depiction of Jesus' birth.

Jubilate Deo, be joyful unto the Lord, refers to Psalm 100.

Nowell is the Anglicized version of Noel used in the Christmas Carol The First Nowell.

Venite adoramus O Come let us adore Him

Yahweh, a Biblical name for God.
