One Question, Two Wrong Answers

by Mike K2

I generated in you interest,
I fear I will fail the test.
The test has only one question;
either answer is a pit to fall in.

You ever increasingly will inquire,
the creak on the floor becoming dire.
Putting out increasingly more conventions,
that skeptical eye, looking for invention.

"Out for scoring love, is that your intention?"
My rubber band of a brain stretched to full tension.
I have failed no matter the judgment call,
through your trap door I don't want to fall.

In my mind I already fell through that trap door!
"Please don't stomp your feet, I implore."
Your compassion is what I hope still lingers,
as I grasp the opening, clinging by my fingers.

If I tell you of my love's desire, "No."
You may resent it and tell me, "Go Blow!"
Or forever it will mean, "Just a friend."
The first sign of intimacy will be the end.

If I indicate that the answer is, "Yes;"
"I knew it all along! That was my guess."
Just to satisfy you because you're horney;
your awkwardness, just an act and so-oo corny!

What if I kick my feet hoping, "Maybe?"
"Not sure. Huh. I don't think you're for me."
Just added confusion, perceived to vacillate;
patient or not, I'll figure the answer too late.

What if I don't say anything at all?
It would bring about a quicker fall.
Me standing there looking like a clod,
from you receiving a disgusted nod...

All I wanted to do with you was have dinner,
to soul's sharing company would make two, a winner.
Watching a movie and enjoying some shared time,
I shouldn't ever feel that I committed a crime.

Just as you can't put a cart before a horse,
you can't fear over nor conjure future's remorse.
My intentions are as pure as newly fallen snow,
I picked you, because you... I would like to know.

Don't put it off with an eternal, "Maybe..."
Help me out! Say, "I'll give it chance baby!"
Just two body and souls for each other to share,
wonderful flighty moments where we both care.

Though life's processes get in our ways,
it will make for finer, more loving days.
Regardless of the end, you gained a friend,
companion and in time, a blessing in the end.

I am very careful with my feelings,
you're unique to me and my dealings.
Let no future thought get in the way,
it starts simply, by giving just a day...

Matters not the final outcome,
I just thought...
You're a special one!

This is Tibetan rope incense that was produce in a monastery and quite an undertaking to get the smoke to entwine itself. I chose this image as I feel our bases are spiritual in nature and though life may have each of use separated, we are actually connected. Just watch children play together. The smoke represents faith, which I believe is the true foundation of kinship and sharing. This image was only photo-shopped for exposure and background. The smoke strands are as they were photographed.

To be honest, I ask to spend time with so very few women. If I get the courage up, know that this is special. The reason is that the love of my life passed away and I felt that she was the better half and would have wished that she lived and I didn't. But life doesn't work off of those wishes. I am tired of sons of bitches, stupid thoughts and over rationalizations getting in the way of what should be friendships in the least. This is this poetic writers heart opened and in solid appeal. I start of very simply, but the adventurous part of me, tells me no matter what things are OK. If I thought enough about you to want to spend time with you, then pretty much, you passed my test. I simply ask for a chance.
