A lighthearted look at God's gifts to me.
Dandelions and Daisies
by adewpearl
Written with gratitude.
Dandelions, daisies,
butterflies and bees,
fireflies and fairies,
God gave us all of these.
Whenever I feel certain
that everything's gone wrong,
when I'm convinced the path to grace
is far too hard and long,
I sip some honeysuckle,
take shade beneath the trees,
keep company with fairies,
and there I find my peace.

I have been touched recently by poems of writers on this site who struggle with disease, disability, financial hardship,
memories of mistreatment - I just wanted to offer my reflections on how I try to cope when life becomes overwhelming to me. This is not a simplistic solution to problems that are far too great to overcome by picking a daisy, just a way to say we all need a chance to back away from the terrible things in our lives once in a while if only for a few seconds.
