Fairy Dust
by adewpearl
for all those who spread fairy dust
************************************************************
In the time a crystalline raindrop takes to liven a petal wilted from thirst, fairy dust sprinkled on mortals' mistakes breaks through our clouds like a brilliant sunburst. In the time it takes to wipe drowsy eyes and tune in the notes of morning's first song, fairy dust scattered through overcast skies makes light what is dark and right what is wrong. In the time a mother's heart skips a beat when she's welcomed with laughter by her child, fairy dust sparkled beneath weary feet guides the way home for the lost and exiled. Who dries others' tears or fosters new trust helps cover the world with fine fairy dust. ************************************************************ |

Especially in my work with the volunteer community, I come into contact with those who sprinkle a bit of fairy dust on the lives of others. This is not a fantasy but something I witness on an everyday basis, even if that fairy dust only means the proffer of a packet of instant grits or calling an elderly homeless man "Sir."
