philosophical musings on the function of fairies
Why God made Fairies
by adewpearl
For Miranda, who loves fairies with all her heart.
God's angels were made to guard and to guide (and nobody thinks they've not done their job), but if everyone feels so satisfied, I wonder why fairies were made by God. Angels, by all accounts, do their work well, with heavenly glory and majesty - at patience and graciousness they excel, and always with reverent piety. Not so the fairy, who flutters and flies and has as much fun as she possibly can, her whimsical journeys across the skies not really having a purpose or plan. But still, without plan, she spreads hope and love - perhaps God needs more than saints up above. |

Our world needs all sorts of people, the responsible and the dreamers, the pragmatic and the fanciful. Why should the heavens be any different?
