Rejecting Your Seasons

by Mike K2

You walked by as
I danced in the wind,
as a scarlet leaf of
passion that I bear.

Dried up and brown,
barely scraping
along, you walked by
not seeming to care.

I survived through
your vacuum of icy
indifference and blizzards
of rage, hunkered down.

Becoming a pioneer that
just had the desire to survive,
finding your splendor and
admiring what I had found!

Slipping around on your
never-ending drizzly moss
filled mind, reveling at the
blooming wonders I find!

Just a few, quiet moments
springs to life... Me!
Afraid for you to admit it,
your soul is a wondrous kind.

Hot, humid, lazy, or delightfully
crazy with one of your thunderstorms;
a passing tempest to make
interesting my day.

Somehow, we always seem to
sit on the veranda and
pass the evening with a little
sweet talk, makes a great end...
Creating a love filled way!

I see the true nature of things
as I have been forced to survive,
I reject your seasons.

It is the cycle of this earth
and life, that I hold through it,
a vigil for my very own reasons.

Whether barely navigable and
mountainous, or the soft gentle
waves upon a pebbly bay shore.

Maybe only minutes, here and there
through the tumult of life,
but those are the moments, I adore.

Whether clothed for these elements
or laid out, naked and thread bare.
I remain standing tall with a love
and lust, as I have come to care.

I'd rather not, the hardship
that springs into this life.
But the beauty that I have
wandered across, makes it
filled with love, rife.

There could be so many dedications to this poem, that FanStory would force me to post them separately. There are two messages contained in this one. 1) Don't let the world get you down, or any individual(s) in it... 2) Being human, we seek out security, but it is the adventure that holds much more for us. But that requires faith and commitment on your part. lol Writing poetry for me has been the same kind of adventure, that I have found in the wilds.
