A lullaby poem.

To end with a beginning!

by Mike K2

Through his accepted, sparse threshold;
cherished, lumbering he happily bounds.
To a cacophony of quickly sloughing off
his daily duties as the walls, resound.

The day is done, he is tired, but feeling
refreshed; for her, naked he stands.
His only duty now, is to pay homage to
the wonderful lady. That given hand.

In her own way, she made possible and
tolerable, his hard and worked day.
Thanking her, with a hug and a little
attention and some nice words to say.

She too is naked, as best of friends
they grace each other's fine side.
Together, they appreciate that little
they get, remarking in friendly chide.

"I thank God to be blessed with you."

"It's a good thing that you do!"

"I wish that we both had more time."

"I'm sure there is more that you can find."

"Regardless, with you I try to do my best."

"If you did better, then I'd say, I was blest!"

They can't hide from each other their ways,
or think about being alone to spend their days.
In fanciful worlds, it's the spirits who seek,
hoping she finds his, decidedly hers to keep.

He hopes he can produce dew on a rose petal,
or a teary liquid upon a little precious metal.
That tears and fears in her pass gently away,
to become the inspiration for a renewed day.

As he temporarily passes into this new world,
upon his lips, it is she he lovingly heralds.
He wants to be that special lullaby,
easing her mind, to start a new day by.
Comforted by his gentle whisper, she dreams;
seeing only the beautiful woman, it seems.

A melodic, passionate and loving song,
that can stay with her all day long...

Please, with me have, no fears,
you are truly endeared.
So you get, peaceful rest;
waking up so you feel blessed.
Gliding above great scenes,
comforted by your dreams.

Naked is used in this case as a analogy to friends that don't put on airs for each other. Also the hypnogogic state of neither being asleep, nor awake.

It has been a long while since the site had a good lullaby poem. So I tried my hand at creating one. The one's that I have bookcased, had been blessedly written by women's hands. Hopefully this one will be viewed favorably viewed as their eye's land.

Thank you Kerry Ann for your artwork to illustrate my poem with.
