In praise of grasshoppers from a to z.
An ode to the grasshopper

For those of us who love all God's creatures.

Abuzz, acoustical aerodynamic bugs. Crescendoing, cacophonous calliope cadenza. Dissonant din - eurythmic evensong. Frolicking, frenzied gabbing gadabouts. Height-reaching insects. Jumping katydids - leaping madrigals. Nearing nightfall, omnipresent patter quickly rises. Sociable twilight talkers - ubiquitous. Vacillating wings, walking xylophones, yammering - zoom! |

I love grasshoppers. Their song, their grace, what they add to the music of the summer night. This poem speaks of my love by tracing their qualities through the alphabet.
