Just a poetic thought that came to me.
Gossamer Thoughts
by Mike K2
Sometimes my thoughts come out too strong. Others miss their marks as I waited too long. A few slip out inappropriately and become embarrassing. Another two were really meant for only one to see. Here and there are those that add up to a necklace of bricks. Some are the flirty ones like an ice cube down the back or a between the ribs prick. ~~~~~ I hope the finer ones are somehow felt or seen. Carried through the winds of time; of what is, what will be and what has been seen. I hope my gentle thoughts can be heard in a cricket's song. Or seen as a puzzling grasshopper along your path hopping along. Like that butterfly that captures an enchanted child's attention. Seen as a vehicle for your spirits growing and sustaining pension. How about my best wishes that are like those coded flittings of fireflies. Perhaps like a cleansing shower from the spring time skies. A blanket that floats down and comforts your fear. Possibly like a bauble that becomes an heirloom, that you can hold dear. A Japanese lantern built lightly enough that a candle flame causes it to float. Wisping though the air like incense held in a little oriental boat. I hope all of these thoughts weave together into a beautifully painted scene and are your warmth and comfort, so you never have any bad dreams. Those type of thoughts from you, in my life played their part. I hope that my thoughts are captured and held in the cage of your heart. |

gossamer[1,noun]gossamer[2,adjective]
Main Entry: 1gos??sa??mer
Pronunciation: ??g??-s??-m??r also ??g??z-m??r, ??g??-z??-
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English gossomer, from gos goose + somer summer
Date: 14th century
1 : a film of cobwebs floating in air in calm clear weather
2 : something light, delicate, or insubstantial
In writing this, the first definition stayed in my mind. (Unlike the cobweb that I walked into and decked, almost knocked out a friend twice my size.) In this poem, I speak to the lingering in my mind of a more then chance meeting of someone that you know you were meant to. Sometimes the reason doesn't quite come into view, other times it is there from the start, hoping conditions are right for lasting. Poetry has been just as much exploration for me as climbing a mountain or crawling thought the unexplored bowels of the earth. I delight in this emotional adventure, yet there exist these penetrating sublime thoughts that for me remain in my mind. Being forever grateful, I hope that these more delicate and floating thoughts somehow reach that person, always demonstrating my appreciation...
