When Dust Speaks

by Mike K2

I create my works,
they find publishing
and are put on the shelf.

Off to another idea,
I do notice they collect
dust, as I don't thumb
through them myself.

But I have found upon
their spines, the most
delicate of feminine
finger prints.

It touches me deeply
that such a lovely woman
will read through them
for a stint. Though,
only the dust is what
offers me a hint.

With my mind enlivened,
my heart warmed and
my soul on fire.

That is the only thing
required for me to
feel so inspired.

I feel lacking in only
weaving a melodious suite.
The pins are set in the pillow,
the bobbins are threaded,
now only something more
beautiful for you will do.

It will be there for all
to enjoy and see.
But only you will hear this
beautifully created symphony!

I apologize for the Dr. Suess inference in the description.

It's funny, for the longest while, I considered my portfolio dead. But word does get out and those poems, do go about. If I think a poem is revelant, I do give the person a notice. Often I recomend triplets, then I know who has checked out my portfolio. But every great once in a while, one poem will be clicked on time and time again and it is an awing feeling as you just know, it has become a keep sake for them. A great inspiration for myself!
