Dreams are always special when they become reality

A chapter in the book Where Dreams Live

Paper Dolls II- An Image Is Born

by Mike K2

For all of the FanStory Woman.
I stand there,
no more than a
cutout.
A hollow being
broken, wondering,
a muck about.

I hear the whispers
where dreams do live.
A beautiful voice who
loves to give.

She lives in a world
that to her is gray.
But somehow she finds a
color wash for my skin today.

A woman insists that I
wear a new sweater.
Those little everyday
moments make my life better.

One that whispers more
most, throws a baseball
cap on me, to keep out
the rain off of me.
Her soft voice, makes the
gut wrenching thunder into
distant heat lightning.
She is always good to
be with, enjoying a
cup of tea.

One draws a mustache on
me and cuts a pear into
a pair, that erupts into
a loud laughing roar.
The magical fruit clamps
back together... and levitates!
In stitches, I don't think
I can take any more.

With the guise of wild flowers,
I find myself dodging
Barney Fife.
She seemed so nice, but this
adventure could take my life.

I had enough and behind my
window with a gun; I try to
stay holed up.
Another throws a rock through
that window and says, "Come on!
You need to have another
special chuck wagon sup!"

That is why I chase after witches
who stole pieces of you.
To put you back together so
you are no longer blue.

To fight a fire breathing dragon,
to convince you, in your tower to
let your hair down so I can
be with you again.

To follow my adventures where
so many people would scream.
Chase after rainbows, glissade
down mountains, ford streams
and try to climb moon beams.

I used to be afraid to go
to sleep at night, that my day
would turn into a night fright.
But now my chain of paper dolls
make me afraid to once again wake.
It's tough, this real life venture
I am forced to view and endure for
goodness's sake.

The next time you materialize,
I pray not for Cinderella.
Any way it comes, honesty!
Would impress this fella.

Paper Dolls was written by me and posted August 23, 2007, remaining in my portfolio. This was a companion piece to one of Miluska's poems. Though I will detail the poetess' that I paid homage to. I have gotten so much enjoyment out of so many of you, this poem could go on forever. The members in this poem I have been fairly close to, using this poem to point the way to their portfolios. I am fans of many and if not I try to periodically check for new postings and many are fans of mine. That's how it works here.

Stanza 3, speaks of Miluska, she got me kick started in this FanStory Word of poetry.

Stanza 4 is Mrs. Louis. Here writing are of her king and those everyday moments or companionship, should be in everybody's life. Say what you will, I love them!

Stanza 5 shows off TwoMoons beautiful and friendly world of dreams and romantic climes.

Stanza 6 is Judian James, a special person whose charm is her gracious humor and outlook that supplies this site. Not to steal her pears but to point attention to it. If you are familiar with them, you will enjoy those stanzas.

Stanza 7 is Kentucky Sweet Pea. I fear that we have the same magnetism for adventure. The one thing that is incorporated in adventure is the fact that its nature always has in store, surprises. Hair raising at the onset, but fondly and humorously remembered in retrospect.

Stanza 8- Halfhoff, I love her directness and wit and many of her poems speaks of a life that I have enjoyed from time to time and hope that sometime, you too can experience that bit from the county side of things.

What I find special here is that you can be the person that you want to be, yet retain yourself completely. Poetry has been a good challenge for me and stars and reviews aside, what is more important is how people let me know that something I wrote has touched them.
